ROMONA Inc. was founded in 1991 on the basis of geodetic divisions of Sakhalin exploration and oil and gas enterprises such as Dalmorneftegeofizika (DMNG), Far East Marine Engineering and Geological Expedition (DMIGE) and the Khabarovsk Aero-Geodetic Enterprise of the Main Directorate of Geodesy and Cartography (GUGK).
